Dear Ken.

I hear and feel you, yet what I feel like sharing after reading your essay is this:

Everything we are seeking outside of ourselves needs to begin finding root within ourselves.

In other words, you need to try and plant the seeds of love, recognition, caring presence in your own garden.

It’s hard, so hard sometimes, but it’s the fundamental rule of the universal law of attraction.

We all need to be the change we want to see in the world.

Treat yourself to a bit of that beautiful love you hold inside!

I do know that my life would feel much more empty without you in it! And I love reading your beautiful writing. It is connecting, true, and carries a bright energy. Thank you for putting it out there, Ken. I’m noticing how each moment alters every fixed feeling and sensation- like when you write, everything changes because of it. When I get up and get myself moving, things in me change.

Thank you for articulating something I've been thinking a lot about lately. Also, it's lovely to read words that are so beautifully warm, and human. I don't have an answer, really - but I do know that there are lots of us out here who feel the same way - perhaps there are deep connections yet to be forged. x

Erica, thank you for sharing that you have also been thinking about this lately. I'm glad that you experienced these words as warm and human. My experience also has me believe that there are many of us feeling this way. May we each find our way to more life-affirming connections.

There's no doubt we all feel heartbreak at the state of the world and how it has affected each and every one of us in one way or another. But I wonder if the break is really the opening... that the more we feel, especially the hard things, the more tender we become. Much love to you, Ken. Grateful you are here.

Jaime, thank you. I agree with your wondering - my sense is that heartbreak and experiences of failure often serve to soften us - to help us open more and connect more deeply.
